To embark on our Apprenticeship Program, you must first complete our Mentorship Program.
Once finished, if you're eager to deepen your Doula skills, become an Intuitive Birth Doula, and join our team, our Apprenticeship Program will provide the hands-on experience essential for your Doula training journey.
Program Highlights:
Led by Merrie and IB senior Doulas, our Apprenticeship Program mirrors her extensive background as a student midwife apprentice, emphasizing the importance of practical experience in various birth settings.
Accepted Doulas can accompany Merrie to consultations, meetings, and births, learning firsthand the art of being a birth worker.
Apprenticeship Program Training:
Attend meetings and births alongside Merrie and her clients, engaging in all client communication.
Learn practical communication skills during prenatal and understand how to support clients in preparation for birth.
Understand the judicious use of medical tools and medications during labor while empowering clients with education and options.
Provide comprehensive physical, mental, and emotional support to laboring mothers and partners throughout the birthing process.
Acquire skills in identifying and addressing mal-positioned babies through effective repositioning techniques.
Learn breastfeeding basics and support new mothers in nursing, including guidance on night feedings.
Gain expertise in newborn care, including nursing, swaddling, baby carrying, and general baby care techniques.
By completing our Apprenticeship Program, you'll become an Intuitive Birth Certified Doula and join our team!

Traditional doula training provides information and certification but often lacks practical skills and hands-on experience. The Intuitive Birth Apprenticeship Program fills this gap, teaching you how to support women and walk with families on their sacred path to parenthood.
