I’m Misty,

In Lakewood, Colorado, I am a plant enthusiast who longs for island life. Alongside being a devoted wife and mother to three grown boys, I find joy in the simple things like gardening, cozy family movie nights, cuddling with my corgi, and exploring the local culinary scene.

Growing up in a bustling household of eight children (lucky number seven here), I immersed myself in the miracle of birth from a tender age. Witnessing my first birth at just ten years old ignited a profound fascination with pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and nurturing infants. To me, women embodied a divine strength as they nurtured and nourished new life.

Every mother deserves to reclaim control of her birthing journey. Through education, she gains insight into her options, cultivates confidence in her birthing abilities, and embraces empowerment. As a Doula childbirth educator and lactation educator, I’m committed to providing my clients with the comfort, guidance, and unwavering support they need on their transformative journey into motherhood.

  • It's easy to think that if you've done your homework, then you'll be able to easily access that knowledge and act accordingly, in real time, at game time. But I've been in enough situations where the moment can get the best of us, and prevent us from thinking clearly (if at all). So despite going to bi-weekly classes at the Birth Center for months to help us prepare for the big day, we knew that having a a warm, informed, experienced and knowledgable presence like Misty by our side, every step of the way, was THE way to ensure that our needs were always advocated for, and that we stayed measured and calm during an otherwise hectic experience, especially at go-time. As a result, Misty being with us during the entirety of the birth experience - from water breaking, to our son being born, and even being by my wife's side when she got transferred to the local hospital - was such a stabilizing and reassuring force. She knew what to do, when to do it, and provided comfort and guidance at every step when it mattered most. We can't thank Misty enough for always being there for us -before, during and after the birth of our treasured son, Kalin. We know that we'll always have a trusted confidant and friend in her.
